So, we have a failed hashing board on one of the new miners after just 1 day……….. As you can image I am not best pleased as this will now impact the Pool Shoot-out planned for 1st Jan. The miner started fine when plugged in yesterday but after doing my daily checks today, one of the new miner was reporting just 600w at the wall, this is a clear indication of an unhappy miner.

I checked the configuration on my pool page and sure enough lots of rejected calculations coming from the miner in question. So I decided to hard reboot the miner (I still don’t like the lack of STOP MINING function) by pulling the power and waiting for 2 minutes. After the miner came back online one of the boards showed 0 MH/S(RT) on the miner status page.

As I have heard that Bitmain can have a 5-6 week turn around so I am hoping that they will at least let me remove the faulty board and just send that back to them, otherwise I lose a lot of mining time and lost revenue. The other 3 board are hashing fine and drawing 600w so this was actually a good unit at 800w total. The units I have used all ranged from 800-880w at the wall.

This means the upcoming Pool shoot-out will be slightly different as I will be using just 1x L3+ on each pool, we should se the same results but will take a bit longer to run…….
